where bracing becomes belonging
Therapy for the ones who feel everything, and have been carrying it alone.
I'm Megan, somatic and EMDR therapist, and someone who knows from the inside what it costs to live in a nervous system that struggles to fully settle. I work with people who hold a lot. Who feel deeply. Who have spent years adapting, absorbing, and persisting, often without knowing there was another way.
If sound sends you over the edge, if you've never felt quite built for this world, if you're exhausted in a way that sleep doesn't fix, you're in the right place.
Where bracing becomes belonging.
Where bracing becomes belonging.
Does this resonate?
You’ve always felt things deeper than other people seem to.
Everything lands harder. Other people's moods. The energy in a room. The weight of something that hasn't happened yet. Sensory experiences— sounds, the big light, textures. You've spent a long time making yourself smaller, more manageable, learning to hold it in because holding it in was what was available.
And it has cost you.
The exhaustion underneath the functioning. The relationships you move through carefully, always tracking, always just a little bit on guard. The sounds, or the chaos, or the overwhelm, that sends your system over the edge before your mind catches up.
This isn’t character flaw. This is a nervous system that learned something. In a body that needed protecting. For reasons that made complete sense at the time.
That pattern was learned. Which means it can change.
I’ve been here too.
Your sensitivity isn’t the problem.
It's a nervous system that never learned it was safe to put the weight down.
You didn't arrive this way randomly. Your nervous system was shaped by experience. By environments that required constant vigilance, by relationships where attunement ran one direction, by moments of overwhelm that had no container and no repair.
Your sensitivity is not weakness. It is intelligence. A finely tuned system that learned to read everything carefully because careful reading was once what kept you okay.
I have misophonia, one of the ways a nervous system like this announces itself loudest. I know what it's like to be hijacked by a sound, to censor the relationships that matter most, to build a careful life around the things that send you over the edge. I also know the holding isn't permanent.
The body knows how to release what it's been carrying. It just needs the right conditions. That's what this work creates.
you’re ready for a different way
It’s time to finally come home to yourself.
My work centers on helping people slow down, listen deeply to what’s happening inside, and respond with care rather than the familiar pattern of pushing through.
Together, we reconnect with your inner world, soften the places that have learned to brace, and welcome back parts of you that have been forgotten.
I love Mary Oliver’s poem “Wild Geese”, so much that I have it hanging in my office. Here’s what I want us to do together, inspired by her beautiful words: I want to help the soft animal of your body love what it loves. No more forcing or striving. Instead, we’ll tune into what you’ve been longing for all along and find ways to meet yourself there.
Come home to yourself.
Come home to yourself.
My Specialties
Where I do my best work
01 misophonia
For the ones whose nervous system announces itself loudest through sound. We go underneath the reaction — to the relational roots, the incomplete responses, the pattern that was brilliant once and is now costing you too much. Not management. Actual change.
For the deep feelers and holders whose bodies have been carrying more than their share. Sensorimotor psychotherapy works directly with what lives in the body, the bracing, the places that learned to hold, to complete what got stuck and create the conditions for genuine rest.
Navigating hard cases, building a practice, or carrying more than you want to admit? EMDR consultation, clinical supervision, and The Well-Built Practice for therapists moving toward hiring with clarity rather than pressure.
The Process
Reach out
Take the first step and reach out. Over a free consultation call, we'll chat about where you are, what you're missing, and how we get there.
Go underneath
We slow down, notice what’s stirring, and build the muscle of listening in a deep, new way. You’ll learn to respond from softness rather than push.
Believe yourself
You’ll reconnect with your own wisdom and your body’s guidance, learning to trust what you know and take actions that feel steady, aligned, and true to you.
